WICSO CODE OF ETHICS ====================== World Islamic Countries Organisation for Scouts and Guides Adopted by the General Assembly on 15 March 2023 PREAMBLE --------- WICSO is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct in all its activities. This Code of Ethics serves as a guide for all members, leaders, volunteers, and staff to uphold the values and principles of the organisation. ARTICLE 1: INTEGRITY --------------------- All WICSO representatives shall act with honesty, transparency, and integrity in all professional and volunteer interactions. They shall avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any personal or financial interests that may influence their decisions. ARTICLE 2: RESPECT AND DIGNITY ------------------------------- WICSO upholds the inherent dignity of every individual. Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, or socioeconomic status is strictly prohibited. All members shall treat others with respect and courtesy. ARTICLE 3: ACCOUNTABILITY -------------------------- WICSO leaders and staff are accountable for their actions and decisions. They shall use organisational resources responsibly and ensure that funds are utilised for their intended purposes. Accurate records shall be maintained at all times. ARTICLE 4: CONFIDENTIALITY --------------------------- Members and staff shall protect the confidentiality of sensitive information obtained in the course of their duties. Personal data of members, beneficiaries, and partners shall be handled in accordance with the WICSO Data Protection Policy. ARTICLE 5: COMMITMENT TO YOUTH ------------------------------- The welfare and development of young people shall be the primary consideration in all WICSO programs and activities. All youth-related activities shall adhere to the WICSO Child Protection Policy. ARTICLE 6: COMPLIANCE ---------------------- All members shall comply with applicable laws, regulations, and WICSO policies. Violations of this Code may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership. IMPLEMENTATION --------------- The Code of Ethics shall be reviewed every three years by the Ethics Committee. All members shall acknowledge their commitment to this Code during the membership application and renewal process.
