WICSO CHILD PROTECTION POLICY =============================== World Islamic Countries Organisation for Scouts and Guides Approved by the Executive Council on 10 June 2023 1. POLICY STATEMENT ------------------- WICSO is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and young people who participate in its programs and activities. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect, or exploitation in any form. 2. SCOPE -------- This policy applies to all WICSO staff, volunteers, leaders, contractors, and partner organisations involved in activities that include or affect children and young people under the age of 18. 3. PRINCIPLES ------------- - The welfare of the child is paramount - All children have equal rights to protection from harm - Children's views and voices shall be respected and heard - Transparency and accountability in all safeguarding matters - Cultural sensitivity within the framework of universal child rights 4. PREVENTION MEASURES ----------------------- 4.1 Recruitment and Screening: All personnel working with children shall undergo background checks and provide character references. 4.2 Training: Mandatory child protection training for all staff and volunteers. 4.3 Code of Conduct: All adults working with children shall sign and adhere to the Child Protection Code of Conduct. 4.4 Supervision: Adequate adult supervision ratios shall be maintained at all activities. 5. REPORTING PROCEDURES ------------------------ Any concern or allegation of child abuse or neglect must be reported immediately to the WICSO Child Protection Officer. Reports may be submitted via email to childprotection@wicso.org or through the confidential reporting hotline at +123-456-7999. 6. RESPONSE AND INVESTIGATION ------------------------------ All reports shall be taken seriously and investigated promptly, fairly, and confidentially. WICSO shall cooperate fully with relevant authorities in any investigation. 7. REVIEW --------- This policy shall be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect best practices in child protection.
