WICSO STANDARDS FRAMEWORK =========================== World Islamic Countries Organisation for Scouts and Guides Version 2.0 - January 2025 INTRODUCTION ------------- The WICSO Standards Framework defines the quality standards against which member organisations are assessed during the accreditation process. The framework comprises six domains, each containing specific standards with measurable indicators. DOMAIN 1: GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP ------------------------------------- Standard 1.1: The organisation has a clear governance structure with defined roles and responsibilities Standard 1.2: Leadership is ethical, transparent, and accountable Standard 1.3: Strategic planning guides organisational development Standard 1.4: Policies and procedures are documented and accessible DOMAIN 2: PROGRAM QUALITY --------------------------- Standard 2.1: Programs are age-appropriate and developmentally sound Standard 2.2: Programs promote character development and life skills Standard 2.3: Programs incorporate Islamic values and cultural relevance Standard 2.4: Program outcomes are regularly assessed and evaluated DOMAIN 3: LEADER AND VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT -------------------------------------------- Standard 3.1: Leaders and volunteers receive adequate training and support Standard 3.2: A systematic approach to leadership development is in place Standard 3.3: Safeguarding training is mandatory for all personnel DOMAIN 4: SAFETY AND SAFEGUARDING ----------------------------------- Standard 4.1: Child protection policies are in place and implemented Standard 4.2: Risk management procedures guide all activities Standard 4.3: Health and safety standards are maintained DOMAIN 5: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT -------------------------------- Standard 5.1: Financial records are accurate and transparent Standard 5.2: Funds are managed responsibly and accountably DOMAIN 6: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT -------------------------------- Standard 6.1: The organisation engages with families and communities Standard 6.2: Partnerships enhance program delivery and impact
