INTRODUCTION

The Self-Study Guide assists organisations preparing for WICSO accreditation. It provides a structured framework for conducting a comprehensive internal review of programs, operations, and governance.

WHAT IS A SELF-STUDY?

A self-study is an internal assessment process through which an organisation examines its own programs, policies, and practices against the WICSO Standards Framework. It involves gathering evidence, engaging stakeholders, and identifying areas of strength and areas for improvement.

SELF-STUDY PROCESS

Phase 1: Preparation (Months 1-2)
- Establish a self-study committee
- Review the Standards Framework
- Develop a work plan and timeline
- Identify evidence sources

Phase 2: Data Collection (Months 3-6)
- Conduct surveys and interviews
- Review documents and records
- Observe program activities
- Compile evidence portfolio

Phase 3: Analysis (Months 7-8)
- Assess alignment with standards
- Identify strengths and gaps
- Develop improvement plans
- Draft self-study report

Phase 4: Report Submission (Month 9)
- Finalise self-study report
- Include evidence portfolio
- Submit to WICSO Accreditation Committee
